2025 Year in Review

2025: A Year of Support, Resilience, and Community Growth

We spent 2025 deepening our mission to build healthier families and stronger communities in New Hampshire’s North Country. From hosting milestone events and offering direct aid, to amplifying the voices of local caregivers, this year stands out as a testament to the power of collaboration.

A Year of Community Connection

This year, we developed new ways to bring families, children, and community partners together through a calendar of events, workshops, and outreach.

One of the year’s major highlights was hosting the 7th Annual Free Community Baby Showers in Berlin and Littleton. These events provided more than 100 families with essential supplies, parenting education & information, and direct connections to local support services. The lively turnout—122 attendees in Berlin alone—showed just how meaningful and valuable these resources are for the community.

In addition to baby showers, our groups, such as Toddler Time, provided children and parents with a welcoming space to connect, play, and learn. Beyond our Community Baby Showers, FRC provides ongoing support through our monthly Diaper Depot and programs like Toddler Time, giving families consistent opportunities to connect, access resources, and engage in enriching activities.

The grand reopening and ribbon-cutting of FRC’s new Community Hub site marked another major milestone. Attendees from local & state representatives, families, and community partners filled Main Street to celebrate the revitalization of this important resource hub. This event symbolized our ongoing dedication to being present, accessible, and responsive to the evolving needs of North Country residents.

Direct Support That Changes Lives

Beyond events, our everyday work involved meeting immediate needs through compassionate intervention. Throughout 2025, hundreds of families benefited from emergency support with critical resources for stability, safety, and dignity. Each case told a unique story: a parent able to maintain employment thanks to repairs to a family car; a caregiver securing a deposit for a safe apartment after months of instability; families receiving urgently needed winter clothing, formula, or baby supplies at exactly the right time.

These interventions addressed both short-term crises and longer-term goals, empowering families to move from crisis to stability. The funds distributed went directly to parents, caregivers, and children without unnecessary barriers, helping prevent evictions, hunger, and utility shut-offs across the region.

Real Voices, Real Impact

Perhaps the most powerful stories of the year come from the families themselves. Participant surveys and satisfaction quotes overflowed with appreciation for our staff and programming. Caregivers described their advocates as “an absolute godsend,” “amazingly helpful,” “kind,” and “supportive.”

One parent reported: “[My home visitor] has gone the extra mile, understands me, advocates for me, and challenges me to be independent. I never feel rushed or overlooked.”

Another credited the FRC team for helping them “navigate family court and supporting me when I needed it most.” These authentic voices underscore not only the practical benefits of intervention but also the deep emotional support offered to those facing uncertainty.

Partnerships That Multiply Impact

Throughout 2025, FRC strengthened collaborations with local organizations such as the Tri-County Community Action Program, AHEAD, the Aging & Disability Resource Center, and DCYF. These partnerships strengthened cross-referral of families, coordination of access to services, and collective celebrations such as the annual Reunification Celebration, which honored families overcome with joy at being reunited after difficult circumstances. Together, these efforts amplified FRC’s reach and made resource sharing more seamless and impactful for everyone involved.

Looking Forward: Building on Success

As the year closes, we remain more committed than ever to its mission: building healthier families and stronger communities through positive relationships, innovative programs, and local collaboration. FRC’s staff continue to offer voluntary, confidential services ranging from home visiting and parent education to financial literacy and crisis intervention—all grounded in respect, empathy, and evidence-based practice. Generosity from donors and the community made these achievements possible. Programs like the annual Caring Tree, for example, bring warmth and hope to children facing financial hardships, while ongoing outreach ensures vital resources reach those who need them most.

Gratitude for a Stronger Community

In every story shared, every need met, and every smile at a community event, the FRC witnessed the resilience and generosity that define North Country families. Whether celebrating the birth of new babies, the reunification of families, or the everyday triumphs of getting through another winter, our role has been as a trusted partner, advocate, and friend to all.

To families, partners, donors, and community champions, we want to thank you for believing in the power of connection, support, and care. Together in 2025, we achieved so much. Together in 2026, we’ll continue to build the future our children deserve.
